Fall Golf is in Full Swing at Old Kinderhook!

Fall brings some of the best playing conditions of the year for Lake of the Ozarks golf. The grounds staff has worked hard and it shows in the shape of the greens.  Be careful with your downhill putts - the greens can be fast!  Make your fall tee time reservations for the best golf course at the Lake of the Ozarks today!  To help you with your golf game, here's a tip from our Old Kinderhook Golf Pro!

Find the Fairway...Not the Fringe!

Tip from the Pro

For most of us, our tee shot is either a draw (moves slightly to the right) or a fade shape (moves slightly to the left). Whichever you happen to hit most frequently, you can employ some strategy to make sure you land in the fairway. If you tend to fade off the tee, make sure you align your ball on the right side of the tee box. You will then aim down the left side of the fairway and your ball should land nicely in the center of the fairway for a good approach 2nd shot.  The
opposite is true for those
who tend to hit draw shape shots, simply tee up on the left side of the tee box and aim down the right side of the fairway - again, the result will most often be a center fairway landing position. The fringe is a difficult 2nd shot - we hope this helps you stay in the short grass!

With the beauty of fall comes course maintenance, including aeration of the greens. Plans for this process are targeted for October 22nd & 23rd, with weather delay dates of October 27th & 28th. We will be pulling cores on the greens. Some surfaces will be treated with different sized cores based on the health of the green. As always, a nice layer of sand will be applied to fill in holes, which generates grass growth. Within a couple weeks things should get back to normal. Enjoy another beautiful fall golf season at Old Kinderhook!
