General Manager


The General Managers purpose is to supervise the overall amenities operation, sales and marketing, and fiscal operations for the hotel. This position will oversee the quality process to ensure guest satisfaction by consistent delivery of both product quality and service to achieve the hotel's financial objectives.  Duties include but are not limited to, physical asset management and upkeep, budgeting; costs analysis; payroll and staffing guide control and compliance; sales activities and booking policies; yield management in manners that maximize the revenue generation and resulting profits; motivating and retaining associates; assist in all financial responsibilities of the resort, exceeding guest expectations, communications with management and any other duties required for the day-to-day management and oversight consistent with the expectations for any first class hotel operation.  This position requires experience in all phases of hotel management, including sales and marketing, human resources, food and beverage, budget/forecast management, rooms, housekeeping, maintenance, golf, spa & landscaping.

Job Responsibilites: 
  • Responsible for the recruiting, terminating, counseling, ongoing training and development of all operations staff. 
  • Organize monthly meetings and perform follow-up with all necessary staff.
  • Ensure the resort's inventory is managed effectively to attain the highest yield per resort objectives. Conduct periodic yield meetings.
  • Assists in managing and achieving all areas of budgets by implementing proper controls. Periodically checks audits to ensure all financial controls. Ensure all financial SOP's are being followed as outlined in the Financial SOP checklist. Anticipates and documents capital expenditure requirements.
  • Maintains personal contact with members/guests of resort. Monitors and maintains procedures for safety of guests and personnel. 
  • Maintains high levels of service at all times. 
  • Performs daily and weekly inspections to ensure quality.
  • Ensure all communication standards are being met and all association, administration and financial responsibilities are being executed in accordance with hotel guidelines and policies. 
  • Assists in preparing weekly and monthly reports as outlined by the Executive Director.
  • Prepares annual budget and business plan.
  • Performs any other duties deemed necessary by the ownership group and/or management.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • 5 years General Manager Experience with Resort Hospitality background
  • Prior experience with golf & high volume Food & Beverage Operations
  • Prior resort pre-opening experience very helpful, but not required
  • Knowledge of daily operations of front desk, reservations, yield management and problem resolution. 
  • Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and Health laws
  • A keen eye with attention to detail
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
  • Protects the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with associates and Guests/Members.
  • Multi-tasking skills are needed
  • Self-starter - able to work independently and good work ethic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to deal with ever-changing situations
  • Must be flexible with scheduling to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Group Sales Specialist


Responsibilities of the Group Sales Specialist include soliciting potential clients, giving tours of the hotel facilities and accommodations, negotiating pricing of room rates and services to ensure maximum profitability, and ensuring the satisfaction of groups who use the facilities. Group sales specialists maintain relationships with current clients to continue selling additional accommodations and hotel services.

Job Responsibilites: 
  • Soliciting potential clients
  • Attending trade shows, events
  • Personal Sales Calls to prospective client facilities
  • Involvement in Professional Organizations for growth of business
  • Giving tours of the hotel facilities and accommodations
  • Negotiating pricing of room rates and services
  • Ensuring the satisfaction of groups who use the facilities.
  • Maintain relationships with current clients to continue selling additional accommodations and hotel services.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be flexible with scheduling to include nights, weekends and holidays.
