We have prompted some of our homeowners with questions about living on our property, and the responses are provided below. Hear for yourself how area residents feel about living at Old Kinderhook!

What Our Residents Have To Say:

Q: What is your favorite part about living at Old Kinderhook?

Sherry Answer: Our favorite part about living at Old Kinderhook is the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful setting, and the great neighbors.

Dale Answer: We have been regular visitors to the lake for over 30 years and had always wanted to retire here.  When we started looking for a permanent home at the lake we came out to Old Kinderhook and fell in love the minute we drove through the gates.  It met all of our needs and then some.  Carefree living with virtually no maintenance in a gated community, access to the quiet end of Lake of the Ozarks, a beautiful golf course to view and play, and numerous restaurants and activities all on site

Rachel Answer: Old Kinderhook is a great place to raise a family. Our kids ride bikes and walk to the pools and tennis courts during the summer, as well as to the ice rink in the winter. We are always impressed by how many neighbors comment on seeing and chatting with them along the way. There is a great family vibe that flows through Old Kinderhook, from the smiles and waves of the guards at the front gate to the kind staff and neighborhood friends we see at The Trophy Room, we always feel like we’re home here.

Q: Since Old Kinderhook is a resort that attracts tourist, does that affect your quality of life at Old Kinderhook?

Sherry Answer: We think the resort aspect of Old Kinderhook enhances our quality of life here. We can use the amenities associated with the hotel (the indoor pool & fitness center, the Hearth Room, the Ice Rink/Sand, etc.). We are both golfers, and truly appreciate the quality of Kinderhook's golf course. Because of the Hotel, the Trophy Room Restaurant is open year round, which it didn't used to be. The Fun Fests/Fireworks show that are now held three times a year are a great enhancement for the residents here.

Dale Answer: Although Old Kinderhook is far enough away from the tourist crowds it is close to shopping, dining and all the other activities of the lake. Old Kinderhook is beautifully nestled in the hills and valleys of the lake but it easily accessible with great roads year round in all types of weather.

Rachel Answer: It does in a positive way. We love to chat with Lodge guests and golfers when we have dinner at The Trophy Room. It always feels like a happening place around here and tourists are a part of this. In the winter, it is so much fun to go to the ice rink and know there are always new and old faces for the kids to skate with… Old Kinderhook has a great small town feel with so many wonderful amenities for families of all ages and stages. We’re in our own little world here and we are grateful to be Old Kinderhook residents.
